When I was in form three I used to watch a movie titled
To Sir With Love. It was one of the films
shown weekly at my school since I came from a boarding school or SBP. The theme song was good and meaningful. It was as good as the movie which portrayed a very patient black male teacher teaching at a very naughty and undesciplined co-ed school who after a series of obstacles and long struggle, virtously overcame the students' mischieviousness. In turn, they loved him as their best friend and favourite teacher. Moral of the story: to achieve your goal you must be very patient and steadfast to overcome the obstacles in your way and always have trust in God.
The teacher (Sidney Poiter)
The song goes like this:
TO SIR WITH LOVEThose school girl daysOf telling tales and biting nails are goneBut in my mindI know they will still live on and onBut how do you thank someoneWho has taken youFrom crayons to perfumeIt isn't easy but I'll try..If you wanted the skyI would write across the sky in lettersThat would soar a thousand feet highTo Sir With LoveThe time has come..For closing books and long last looks must endAnd as I leaveI know that I... am leaving my best friendA friend who taught me right from wrongAnd weak for strongThat's a lot to learnWhat.. what can I give you in return??If you wanted the moonI would try to make a startBut I..would rather youLet me give my heart..To Sir With Love..!Lulu
